On September 23, 2025, OpenAI revealed plans to establish five new AI data centers as part of its Stargate project, collaborating with Oracle and SoftBank. This expansion will increase the project's total capacity to 7 gigawatts, enough to supply energy to more than 5 million homes. Three of the new data centers will be developed with Oracle in Texas and New Mexico, while the remaining two will be built with SoftBank in Ohio and Texas. This initiative is part of OpenAI's extensive infrastructure development aimed at enhancing its capabilities in training and deploying advanced AI models. Additionally, OpenAI recently secured a $100 billion investment from Nvidia to acquire AI processors and further expand its data center network.
